DeWitt Law Firm Receives Orlando Police Department Good Citizenship Award
As a member of the Orlando Community for over twenty years, the DeWitt Law Firm knows the importance of giving back to our community. The DeWitt Law Firm routinely participates in the News Junkie’s annual holiday bike drive. In 2018, the DeWitt Law Firm matched the bike donations for one hour and donated 122 bicycles for needy children. Additionally, in 2017, the DeWitt Law Firm provided 116 bicycles through the bike drive.
Helmet Heads of Florida is a non-profit organization that provides helmets to children throughout Central Florida. Founded in 2018 by Moses DeWitt, Helmet Heads of Florida works to help prevent minor children from suffering traumatic brain injuries, which are fully preventable by utilizing the proper safety gear. Given the DeWitt Law Firm’s prior involvement with the News Junkies annual holiday bike drive, it seemed like a natural progression to ensure that the same children were also receiving the proper protective helmets. In 2018, Helmet Heads of Florida launched their first helmet giveaway in conjunction with the annual bike drive and offered to provide 362 helmets for children in need. Helmet Heads of Florida will hold several more events throughout the year to help ensure that all the children of Central Florida have the helmets they need to be safe.
The DeWitt Law Firm is also a proud supporter of Yellow Brick Road, the Holden Flynn Foundation. The Yellow Brick Road Foundation provides support and assistance to families whose children have been born with congenital heart disease, which is the most common birth defect affecting 1 in 100 children worldwide. The Yellow Brick Road Foundation provides support to families who are hospital bound by providing special wagons allowing the children to venture outside of their hospital rooms, which is normally prohibited given all of the medical equipment that must be carried with them at all times. The DeWitt Law Firm has partnered with the Tom and Dan Charity Foot Golf Tournament to benefit the Yellow Brick Road Foundation by providing funding for all of the greens fees for the tournament to ensure that 100% of the proceeds raised from the event go directly to the charity.
