On June 12, 2014, the Florida Supreme Court ruled that red light cameras installed prior to July 1, 2010 were illegal. The ruling effects only Orlando, Florida and Aventura, Florida’s ticket camera program between September 1, 2008 and July 1, 2010, when Orlando and Aventura operated ticket cameras without specific authorization from the state.

The Florida Supreme Court’s full opinion can be read here.
